Therapeutic Group Songwriting

Mission Statement:

At the heart of To Feel Alive is the belief that everyone has a voice — and that voice deserves to be heard.

We exist because there’s unmatched healing power in turning raw emotion into lyrics, in transforming personal pain, gratitude, memory, or hope into a shared song. To Feel Alive gives people — especially those navigating mental health challenges — a sacred and safe space to craft their story into music, even if they’ve never played an instrument or written a line before.

This isn’t about being a musician. It’s about being seen.

We’re driven to do this work because we’ve seen what happens when someone hears their own truth sung back to them — not by a therapist, or a diagnosis, but through words they helped shape.
That kind of expression? It’s cathartic, communal, and alive.

To Feel Alive is where healing meets creativity, and where vulnerability becomes art.

Program Introduction

In To Feel Alive, participants come together to create songs that express their journeys, emotions, and aspirations. Guided by the rich tradition of Tefilla (Hebrew for ‘prayer’) and informed by DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) skills, we explore themes of mindfulness, gratitude, forgiveness, resilience, etc. These themes are universal and highly relevant to anyone on a path of healing and self-growth.
